A young resident of Pakistan, like all people, stopped growing by the age of 18. But, as it soon turned out, it stopped only partially… Due to a rare disease, the unfortunate man’s head and limbs continued to grow – the young man became a monster.
In the medical literature, you can find descriptions of only 120 cases of this disease. According to experts, this is the same affliction that once tormented the famous Elephant Man Joseph Merrick.
When the disease began to manifest itself more and more, the relatives and friends of the grown-up Sein with great difficulty managed to bring him out of a depressive state, as he decided that his diseases were sent down to him from above as a punishment.
“There were cases when people ran away in horror when they encountered me on the street. But now everyone living in the neighborhood knows me and they often stop to talk to me,” says Sein.
He himself and his parents hope that the diagnosis “Proteus syndrome”, once made by doctors, may turn out to be erroneous, and that, perhaps, he suffers from another disease that can be treated.
“I hope to find a doctor who can cure me: I will become normal and meet a woman who will love me,” dreams the unfortunate giant.
But, apparently, he was correctly diagnosed at the time – and there are still no drugs or methods of treatment for Proteus syndrome in the arsenal of doctors.
